日本の街道を歩くプロジェクトから生まれた「マグロロード」をテーマにしたTシャツ。フロントにはマグロのイラスト、背面には街道にまつわる地名や距離などをデザインしています。
マグロの印刷には、ネック部分で使ったイエローとレッドのインクを数ミリずらして重ね刷りし、オレンジに見せるという、手刷りのシルクスクリーンならではの技法を採用しています。デザインは、釣りと魚を愛する謎のクリエイティブユニット「O／S／C」に手がけていただきました。
江戸時代に、駿河湾で揚がったマグロや海産物は、中道往還を通って甲府の魚問屋へ運ばれていました。特にマグロが山梨県民の食文化に欠かせないことから「マグロロード」と命名。
日本に残る旧街道を歩くことをライフワークとする現代の旅人・ルーカス B. B.が届ける「KAIDO T」シリーズの第3弾。旅や釣りはもちろん、日常使いにもぴったりの一枚です。
Maguro was originally carried from Shizuoka’s Suruga Bay to Kofu, Yamanashi via the Nakamichi Oukan trail.We have renamed the trail as the Maguro Road and created this special T-shirt to commemorate the trail and its history.To this day the mountain folks of Kofu consume the most Maguro per person in Japan and have the most sushi restaurants per capita.The custom of carrying Maguro along the Maguro Road is said to have started when Tokugawa Ieyasu defeated Takeda Shingen to capture the territory that is now known as Yamanashi.Apparently Ieyasu’s warriors took a one-month break after the battle and wanted to eat fresh Maguro – They brought the fish in via the same route they used to bring their battle equipment into Yamanashi and hence the Maguro Road was born.
